Saving with Water Conservation

Thursday 6:30 PM - 7:45 PM
Do you leave the water running when you brush your teeth? Like to take a long shower in the morning? How tight is that hose? And what's up with rain barrels? We all do little things that waste water even if we don't know it. This kind of inadvertent waste can increase your utility bills, and it can be easily prevented. Join the Historic Chicago Bungalow Association and a panel of experts as they discuss ways to save money through water conservation in the next installment of HCBA's popular Seminar Series.

Bungalow Belt by Bus Tour

Sunday 9:00 AM
Between the First World War and the Great Depression, more than 80,000 bungalows were built in Chicago. These one-and-a-half-story homes?marked by detailed masonry and windows, pitched roofs, sheltered entrances, and neat lawns represented the pursuit of the American Dream.
While learning about the evolution of working-class housing and social movements, observe forgotten landmarks of Chicago history: factories that supported the City Beautiful movement and parks that were once the envy of the world.
Each of the Bungalow Belt tours studies different aspects of bungalow and urban design. The North Route features Ravenswood Manor, the Villa, Portage Park, Galewood, the Schorsch Irving Park Garden Historic District. NOTE: Some walking is required.
