This Farmer's Market will be held on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays of each month through the beginning of October. Additional market dates are October 5th and October Vendors will include farmers from around the region, bakeries and other local food providers. POW/MIA Remembrance Ceremony?

This event is being co-hosted by the American Legion -Billy Caldwell Post 806, Portage Park Chamber of Commerce, and Vietnam Veterans of America - Chapter 311. There will be a ceremony to recognize and remember our United States Military servicemen and women who were prisoners of war or are missing in action. The ceremony will be led by U.S. Navy veteran Dale Tippett who served in the Vietnam War. Please join us as we pay tribute to these brave soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines who have sacrificed so much in the service of our country. Everyone is welcome and registration is not required. Medicare Advantage Plans (Medicare Part C)

Join us for this free program presented by Jeanet Reyes-Cordero, Community Relations Specialist for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois. Attendees will learn how Medicare Advantage Plans work and what to look for when choosing a plan. Also referred to as Medicare Part C, Medicare Advantage Plans are a type of health plan offered by a private insurance company that contracts with Medicare to provide people with their Medicare Part A and Part B benefits. Medical services are paid out by the health insurance plan rather than directly by Medicare. Most Illinois Medicare Advantage Plans include prescription drug coverage. The program is approximately sixty minutes and no registration is required.

Cast members from the ensemble will perform dramatic readings from the Ten Most Frequently Challenged Books in America during 2013, as compiled by the American Library Association's Office of Intellectual Freedom. The aldermen will discuss new business development in their respective wards, as well as their goals for the upcoming year.
