Northwest Chicago Film Society

Wednesday 09/4/13 7:30 PM - 12/28/13
The Northwest Chicago Film Society proudly announces its first full slate of feature films at the Patio Theater, running from Sept. 4 to Dec. 28. As always, the season includes classic features, archival rediscoveries, oddball independent productions, and more--all presented at the most beautiful theater in Chicago on that most elusive, effervescent, and endangered of media: 35mm motion picture film. We hope there's a little something for everyone: Greta Garbo laughs, Steven McQueen sings, giant grasshoppers invade Michigan Ave, and a renegade computer takes over the world.

9/4 - 7:30 PM - 80 min
ONE HOUR WITH YOU (1932, Ernst Lubitsch)
Actually, it's an hour and eighteen minutes, but we'd gladly spend all the time in the world with Maurice Chevalier and Jeanette MacDonald in Lubitsch's witty, sad, staggeringly adult musical.
35mm from Universal Pictures

9/11 - 7:30 PM - 94 min
DAYS OF HEAVEN (1978, Terrence Malick)
Before TO THE WONDER and TREE OF LIFE, Terrence Malick was twirling through the fields with Brooke Adams in this visual knock-out. Screening in a carnal new 35mm print, struck for the most recent edition of Ebertfest. Features Ennio Morricone's first Academy Award nominated score!
New 35mm print from Paramount Pictures
