Our Lady of Victory Parish Food Pantry Donations

Homeless Point-In-Time Count

Saturday 12/1/12 - 12/30/12
The Department of Family and Support Services will be conducting the 2013 Homeless Point-In-Time Count on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.
The City must conduct this homeless census every two years in order to compete for Federal funds. The data retrieved from this one night helps Chicago demonstrate the need for funding to address homelessness in the City.

�reserving a seat at one of the information sessions

Collecting for a Cause

The St. Robert Bellarmine School Peace and Justice Committee is creating cards and collecting items to send to the Edward Hines, Jr. VA hospital in Hines, Ill.
Needed are stationary items (paper, pens, blank note cards), new or gently used paperback books, crossword puzzle books, current magazines (September-December 2012, new or gently used), playing cards, denture adhesives and cleansers, disposable razors, lotions, toothbrushes and tooth paste.Items are being collected through Wednesday, Dec. 19.

Holiday Tree Extravaganza

Saturday 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Friends of Thorp and OA Thorp PTA will be sponsoring a Holiday Tree Extravaganza! Buy your trees, wreaths and garland. It should be a festive day with caroling from the Thorp Choir, hot chocolate and maybe even a visit from you know who!

50% of the proceeds from the sale of trees, wreaths and garland will go directly back to Thorp. It's a wonderful way to support OA Thorp and get a jump on your holiday decorating.

Visit From Santa - Irving Austin Business Association

Saturday 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM
This event is being sponsored by the businesses in the Irving-Austin shopping district. Come and have your picture taken with Santa! Parents are asked to donate a new toy for a needy child aged 10 and under. The toys collected will be donated to the Maryville Crisis Nursery (4015 North Oak Park Avenue), a non-profit agency that provides free childcare for newborns to six-year-olds when their families are going through an emergency. There will also be area wide promotions and coupons for local stores.

The Irving Park Fine Arts Committee, in conjunction with American Eagle Productions, is pleased to present ?Jingle Bell Express,? a fast-paced holiday musical review. This concert features mixed quartet singing 20 of your favorite holiday songs ? including a parody of The Twelve Days of Christmas. There will also be an audience sing-along. People of all ages will enjoy this light, fun holiday enertainment.

A Festive Evening
The St. Robert Bellarmine Parents' Association and Men's Club will host their annual Christmas Party, Wednesday, Dec. 12, in Kernaghan Hall.
The evening begins at 6 p.m. with a cash bar, then follows with an Italian dinner, raffle and auction, and music from Jimmy Damon.
Tickets are $25 and will be available after masses Dec. 8 & 9, or by visiting the rectory.

Friends of Portage Park Winter Market

This Indoor Farmer?s Market will be held periodically on Sundays from December to May. Additional market dates are January 20th, February 3rd, February 17th, March 3rd, March 17th, April 7th, April 21st and May 5th. Vendors will include farmers from around the region, bakeries and other local food providers. There will also be free musical entertainment at each market.
