Portage Park School Chicago Rain Barrel & Compost Bin Distribution

     The rain barrels are $45 and the compost bins are $35, with a maximum of one each per household.  Reservations are required by June 19th.  To RSVP or for questions, email the Portage Park Playground Committee at portageparkplayground@gmail.com .
     A compost bin can reduce your household waste production by up to 30% by composting your kithen scraps and yard trimmings in a backyard compost bin.  A rain barrel can save up to $40 of your household water use during the hot summer months, while at the same time helping to manage Chicago's stormwater.  You can use collected water in your rain barrel, instead of tap water to water your garden, lawn and potted plants, wash your car or bike and clean work boots and pools.

Portage Park School at 5330 W. Berteau, will be the site for the Chicago Rain Barrel and Compost in Distribution on Saturday June 27, from 10am until 1pm.
